2025 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships at FEEM

Following its long-time tradition of successful international post-graduate and doctoral training, FEEM invites expressions of interest from researchers wishing to apply for the 2025 MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships under the Horizon Europe Programme.
FEEM welcomes applications in a wide range of topics:
- Socio-ecosystems modelling and mapping
- Integration between different modelling approaches: system dynamics, agent based, multi-scale modelling
- Cost-Benefit/Efficiency Analysis of Nature-Based Solutions

5B. A monetary policy model for commodity price co-movements: an application of Factor-Augmented Structural VAR model - Moving Forward through the Energy Transition: Re-evaluating the Role of Energy Commodity Markets in the Global Economy

- Distributional effects of climate policies and green deal plans on workers using matched employer-employee and job posting data
- The political economy of the energy transition, with a particular focus on structural drivers and material interests
- Assessing emerging inequalities in the low-carbon transition: gender, health and income
- Micro and/or macroeconomic models to assess the Water-Energy (and Food) nexus in an uncertain framework

- Impact assessment of mining using social cost benefit analysis
- Modelling the impact of high VRES penetration, hydrogen and increased frequency of adverse extreme weather events on the European and Italian power and gas systems to define resilient decarbonization strategies
- Modelling of the diffusion and climate emissions impact of electric cars on the Italian car fleet in order to verify the possibility of achieving climate neutrality by 2050
- Modelling and forecasting of the evolution of the road transport sector in Italy in relation to the achievement of the EU-wide climate targets
- Climate change adaptation and engagement of citizens and stakeholders
- Merging biophysical models and socio-behavioural change analytical framework for implementing WEFE Nexus approaches
- Open/Big Data and Citizen Science methods for monitoring and understanding human-water-climate interactions
- Geographic Information Systems and earth science modelling for mitigating natural disasters and for sustainable natural resource management
- Transdisciplinary data and methods for merging technology and socio-behavioural change for next generation water governance
Integrating geospatial data models and tools into a web GIS platform for water resource and risk management at continental scale: focus on the Euromed and on the African continents.

Who Can Apply
- Hold a PhD by the call deadline (10 Sept 2025). Those who have defended their thesis but not yet received the degree are also eligible.
- Have no more than 8 years of research experience since their PhD. Career breaks, non-research work, and research in third countries (for EU nationals or long-term residents returning to Europe) do not count toward this limit.
- Comply with mobility rule: you must not have lived or worked in Italy for more than 12 months in the past 36 months before the call deadline.
Fellowship Duration and Benefits
Duration: 12–24 months at FEEM (Milan, Italy)
Start Date: Projects are expected to begin in April 2026
