The Book

An engaging and passionate read that shows how economics can offer concrete tools to improve people’s lives and be used for the good of humanity and the planet. All the challenges and crises facing humanity are in some way caused by human actions, individual and collective, and every solution involves finding ways to make people behave differently than usual. Economics has at its disposal some of the most powerful tools to intervene in this regard and can solve a wide variety of problems (How do I build a happy community? How do I get my newborn baby to sleep? What is the secret to finding solutions to the climate crisis?) precisely because it helps change individual behaviors and social consequences. In an essay full of humor and captivating stories, Erik Angner shows the salutary power of economics to make the world a more welfare-friendly place.
